Reduced Pressure Zone backflow devices used for irrigation and aerobic septic systems will require an annual inspection to meet TCEQ requirements. The test is to ensure that the device is operating properly to protect the potable-water supply against health hazzards. Any device working improperly must be repaired or replaced at the cost of the customer. These must be tested by a licensed backflow prevention assembly tester and you can find the list of testers listed under the resources tab on this website.
Each customer with an RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) will receive a notice from VEPO with instructions on how to proceed with required testing. Ample time will be given before deadline, and if that deadline is not met, water service will be cut-off until the test is completed and filed in accordance with Salado WSC office.
